CODE OF CONDUCT: GENERAL LIBRARY

  • Library remains open from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm on all working days.
  • Students and staff must scan their identity cards on automated barcode scanner to enter the library
  • Silence shall be strictly observed in the library.
  • While entering the library, readers should leave their personal belongings, such as bags, brief-cases, personal books, and parcels near the counter reserved for this purpose. They can carry loose papers and note books.
  • Use of mobile phones are strictly prohibited inside the library.
  • A student at the degree level will be issued 2 books, 4 books at the P.G level and 6 books to research scholars.
  • A teaching staff can borrow 6 books and a nonteaching staff can borrow up to 3 books at a time.
  • Loan period of books for all category of members will be 14 days and they can be re issued for another term. A member who fails to return a book on due date will be fined Re.1 per day for each book until the book is returned.
  • The book shall be recalled at any time even before the expiry date.
  • Periodicals, magazines and Reference books will not be lent out.
  • Borrowers will be held responsible for any damage caused to the book, so check and point out if there is any damage on book while borrowing.
  • Students are not allowed to sub-lend the book.
  • Do not make any marking, folding in the books and periodicals.
  • If a book is damaged or lost by a member, he/she will have to replace it with fine as per library rules. 
  • Before applying for any certificate from the college, members have to get clearance certificate from the library.
  • Violation the library rules, indiscipline or misbehavior may lead to cancellation of Library membership
