National Cadet Corps- NCC


Our institution has two battalions 3(k) Battalion NCC for boys and girls and 1(k) Girls Battalion for girls, which has an impressive record on NCC performance.

The NCC unit of our college in association with AkhilaBharateeyaPoorvaSainikSewaParishath commemorated Kargil Divas by a grand function to honour the contribution of the armed forces. Additional Director General of NCC, Major General B.Chakavarthy gave a vivid description of the events which led to Kargil war and the actions taken by the Indian army to conquer Kargil. His talk instilled a sense of pride and respect in all students towards the armed forces.

National Cadet Corps – 1(k) Girls Bn (Army wing) in the college plays a credible role in shaping the character of students by instilling the values of patriotism, service, discipline and hard work. NCC girls Bn is functioning in the college with an authorized strength of 106 SW cadets. Cadets enrolled in NCC were given institutional training and they can participate in adventure activities, community development programmes, various national and state level annual training camps, republic day parades, EBSB saptah camps, Youth Exchange Programmes, Sports, Cultural activities etc. Due to Covid 19 pandemic situation majority of these activities are carried out through online. Conducting offline programmes and activities of NCC is strictly in acordance to all Covid – 19 protocols. NCC Company of this college comes under 1(k) girls Bn NCC, Sasthamangalam and Trivandrum Group of Kerala and Lakshadweep NCC Directorate.

In 2020-21, NCC started its activities. For institutional training Google classroom was created on July 2020 with class code ‘xmklecl’ with an objective to impart classes and prepare them for ‘B’ and ‘C’ certificate examination. 
Enrollment of first year cadets was conducted on 19/11/2020 in which 23 cadets were selected out of 60 students attended. Induction programme for first year cadets was conducted on 25/11/2020 through Google meet.
Independence Day was celebrated in college by flag hoisting by principal followed by national integration initiatives by cadets.
NCC organised clean campus safe campus drive and cadets participated in cleaning activities.
