Activities related to Institutional Social responsibility
Water analysis - a social extension program undertaken by Department of Chemistry was launched on 10th December 2014. Purpose of this program was to extend classroom chemistry to the society by doing analysis of drinking water in Chempazhanthy area. Under the leadership of Dr. V.Bhagavathy, Co-ordinator of Water Analysis Program, in collaboration with National Centre for Earth Science Studies (NCESS), Akkulam, Trivandrum and ChempazhanthyGurukulam Residence Association (CGRA), students of I M.Sc class scientifically collected water samples from different houses under CGRA. Samples were immediately transported to NCESS for preservation and incubation. 8 students of B.Sc (S6) were send to NCESS for proper training and they completed the entire physico-chemical and microbiological analysis in 15 days including Christmas holidays. They are going to submit this work as project report for the partial fulfillment of the degree. The detailed reports with proper remedial solutions to the problems associated with water samples (if any) were handed over to the Secretary of CGRA by the Ward member Smt. VimalaKumari on 27th March 2015 in a specially arranged function by the Department of Chemistry for this purpose. Research Convenor of the program was  Dr I.G Shibi
All Chemie-2015 - The Department organized an Exhibition “AllChemie-2015 on 26th and 27th of March 2015. Dr. T. Suresh, Asso Prof was the convenor of the Exhibition. Prof. Rajeev , Technical Officer, ICER, Trivandrum inaugurated the exhibition. The focus of the exhibition was “Chemistry for All”. Teachers and Students from other departments and nearby schools visited the exhibition. Instruments, Minerals, Charts, Posters, Cartoons  and demonstration of some interesting reactions in chemistry were the main attraction of the exhibition.

Activities during 2013-14
